"The theme of this mural is based upon the Christmas play, The Nutcracker. This mural took approximately 1 hr. and 45 min. to paint, but about 2 days to develop on paper. The students and I began to discuss the play and develop characters based upon Keith Haring's style. My students were studying Keith Haring's works of art and his background for at least 2 weeks. One of the officers from the Elgin police department asked me and the students to develop a window mural based upon the nutcracker play.
